Dear Kindergarten Parents:

This will be the last newsletter for the school year! I can’t believe how fast this year has gone! Next week will be very busy and exciting – here is a look ahead:

  • Reading and Language Arts: We will review handwriting, and write and illustrate the sentence, I like to _____. I also want to encourage students to read during the summer. We will watch a few book trailers that I hope will make students excited to go the library over the summer!
  • Math: We will talk about counting to 100 and place value. These are things that will be covered in first grade, but we have already talked about them briefly. If there is time during the week, we have some real-life activities to think about that involve math, such as designing a garden and going to the grocery store.
  • Religion: We will talk more about Jesus’ mother, Mary. We will be attending Mass on Friday to see our fifth grade buddies graduate!

Other Thoughts:

  • Please decide if you want to keep the school pictures that were sent home a few weeks ago. If you do not, please send the packet back. If you would like to keep them, please send the payment in.
  • Please remember these special events next week:
    • Tuesday at 11:30: Picnic at Legion Park
    • Wednesday at 1:00: Talent Show
    • Thursday at 1:00: Awards Show
    • Friday at 1:00: Graduation Mass
Thank you so much for letting me work with your children this year! I’m sure this will go down as one of my favorite classes, and I mean that sincerely. I feel so fortunate to have worked with such funny, kind, and loving kindergartners! Thanks for making this a great year!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Pettinelli
